Attention Teens - We hope you can join us for the last (regular) Youth Group gathering of the school year! It will take place this Sunday, May 19 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Hope Parish Center (863 W. Chestnut Street, Coal Township, PA 17866). We will watch the last segment of YOU, eat a hoagie dinner (please bring $5), and play a game--hopefully, Bocci if weather permits! Please RSVP by Saturday if your teen can make it. Also--save the date! We will be going bowling on Sunday, June 2 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. We just ask for $5 to help offset the cost. Food and shoes will be provided! You can RSVP now or later.

This is a friendly reminder that we will be having the last Kids Bible Movie Night of the year, this Friday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Our Lady of Hope Parish Center. We will watch "He is Risen," make a really unique Mary craft, and play the new game "saran wrap!" As always, there will be refreshments and lots of prizes! The event is FREE! Attention Teens!: This is a friendly reminder that we will be helping at the Shepherd's Table this Thursday evening, May 9 from 4:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be served to all helpers and we will help serve dessert and clean up afterwards. We will have a Youth Group gathering for grades 8 to 12 on Sunday, April 14 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.! It will be held at the Our Lady of Hope Parish Center at 863 W. During this Lenten season, it is good for us to remember the importance of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). All Catholics are obligated to go to Confession at least once per year during the Lent or Easter season and also when one has committed a mortal sin. This is a reminder that 40 hours begins today. Tonight is family night! Devotions begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Church. Sister Pat McCormack has returned from last year to talk to our parish family about our Blessed Mother Mary. You are invited to come on Monday and Tuesday nights as well. Additionally, we have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament that is taking place all day these next three days. Please stop in by yourself or with your families to enjoy this quiet time with Jesus. Adoration on Sunday (all day), and Monday and Tuesday afternoon after 3:30 p.m. will be in Church. Adoration on Monday and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. will be in the Holy Spirit Chapel in the Parish Center. May God bless all our families during this 40 hours!

On Sunday, March 10 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. (note the extended time) at Our Lady of Hope Parish Center We will watch the movie “Gosnell—the Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer.” PG-13. This is based on the true story of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, who ran a West Philadelphia abortion clinic. Horrifically, he murdered some of the babies after they were born alive, disrespected their remains, and was responsible for the death of a 41-year old woman who died post-abortion. The media, at first, refused to cover these crimes because no one wanted to go against an abortion clinic. However, a pro-choice ADA and a pro-life detective worked together to end the horrors of this clinic and put Dr. Gosnell in jail for life. SENIORS--PRAY & PLAY WITH THE YOUTH GROUP! Attention Senior Citizens – You are invited to spend some time with our youth group! They are hosting a Play and Pray on Sunday, February 24 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We will start by praying the rosary together and then play BINGO. We will have prizes, refreshments, and a whole lot of fun! Please RSVP to Sister Emily Vincent at 570-648-4432. We hope you can join us!

Do you like to sing? Choir practice will be staring up on February 27th, 2019 at 7 pm, instead of 6:30 pm. Come meet our new organist, we need more choir members, please consider helping out.

Today is the Feast of the Holy Family. Prayer to the Holy Family of Nazareth: Dear Lord, Bless our family. Be so kind as to give us the unity, peace, and mutual love that You found in Your own family in the little town of Nazareth. Saint Joseph, pray for the head of our family. Obtain for him the strength, the wisdom, and the prudence he needs to support and direct those under his care. Mother Mary, pray for the mother of our family. Help her to be pure and kind, gentle and self-sacrificing. For the more she resembles you, the better will our family be. Lord Jesus, bless the children of our family. Help them to be obedient and devoted to their parents. Make them more and more like You. Let them grow, as You did, in wisdom and strength and grace before God and man. Holy Family of Nazareth, by your intercession, love, and holy example, make our family and home more and more like Yours, until we are all one family, happy and at peace in our true home with You.
